RAISE YOUR VOICE POSTER CONTEST

Center for Architecture & Design is excited to announce the winners of our first-ever “Raise Your Voice” poster contest. The aim of this contest was to use the power of design to motivate our KC community to register and VOTE in the 2020 general election. We invited entries from professional designers, students, and creatives from any discipline with a passion to mix design with advocacy.

The Center assembled a diverse panel of judges – mixing professional designers and non-designers, KC residents and nonresidents – who thoughtfully reviewed the 32 entries we received. They judged the entries on visual impact, creativity, and the power of the nonpartisan message. Our deepest appreciation to the judges.

And the winning poster designers are…

1st Prize: Heather Brantman

Heather has 18 years of experience in graphic design and 14 years’ experience in motion graphics. A former artist for world-renowned collective MK12, she now freelances and enjoys working with new clients.

KC Spirit Honorable Mention: Paul David Lampe

Paul David Lampe is a marketing communications professional with experience in government public affairs, graphic design, website development and advertising. He earned a Bachelor of Journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia, a Master of Public Administration from the University of Kansas, and a certificate in website development from the University of Kansas.

2nd Prize: Will Dubois, Assoc. AIA

Will is a 2016 graduate from the K-State College of Architecture living and working in Kansas City. He enjoys graphic design as a compliment to his architecture background.

Student Honorable Mention: Kayla Decker

Kayla Decker is from Kansas City, Missouri and is in her senior year at Truman State University, pursuing degrees in Graphic Design and Marketing. Kayla is actively involved in the Truman State University chapter of the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) and the Iota Nu chapter of Delta Sigma Pi (DSP), a professional business fraternity.

3rd Prize: Justin Ruggieri

Justin is a user experience and visual designer living in Kansas City, Missouri. Professionally, he creates intuitive software user interfaces for Garmin; personally, he enjoys solving problems using his love of art and design.
